Drying out

Full stats (💧☀️🎵 at 100%) drain at about 2% per hour, so a fully cared-for mossagotchi can go roughly 50 hours (just over two days) before drying out. Check in every day or two and you're golden.

Why Second Chance exists

After realizing it'd been a while since checking on mossagotchi to water my moss spore, I logged on only to find my pet dried out. I genuinely felt sad in that moment, like I had let my moss homie down.

So I added a "Second Chance" feature, because the game is supposed to be fun and not stressful. If you've had a long day and forget to take care of your little guy, the option is yours: give yourself a break, or start over if you're feeling like experiencing Mossagotchi on expert level.

Keep it mossy. 🍀

🌱 How to Play

A snail is hosting a dinner party tonight and the creek is a mess. You are the tiny moss ball who agreed to tidy it up, one roll at a time.

Roll around and soak up anything smaller than you to clean the creek and grow. Start small and work your way up.

Anything wearing a glowing red ring is still too big for you. Bump one and you lose a heart. Lose all three and it is back to being a speck.

Keep growing and the tables turn. Once you are big enough, that ring turns green, meaning it is ready to be soaked up. What scared you a minute ago becomes your next snack.

Fresh moss munchies keep sprouting, so there is always more to gather. The green fog marks the edge of the creek.

Rolling: arrow keys or the MOVE stick.
Camera: WASD or the CAM stick. On a phone you can also spin the view with two fingers.

Clean up every last thing and the Mossify trophy appears atop the tree stump. Climb up and touch it to get the creek party ready.

Grow big.
